Golpe #10 is a collective exhibition that will feature ten Honduran and one Swiss artists, whose testimonies and works in photography, video, performance or installation represent different expressions and languages around the political and social impact after the 2009 coup d'état in Honduras.
Although the main objective of the exhibition is to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the coup, the selection of works is much more comprehensive in qualitative terms, and refers to different interpretations of historical structural violence and social upheaval in the last decade. Its diverse content brings together pieces that address corruption, militarization, political persecution, overcrowding, vulnerability to natural disasters, involuntary migration, gender violence or extractivism, among other topics.
Our main objective is to open a platform for critical exchange with people in Switzerland, a country with solidarity networks in the areas of human rights, academic exchange and economic cooperation towards Honduras. In addition to the above, its historical and relevant role in international politics.
The exhibition will open simultaneously in two independent spaces, characterized by the political content of its programs. One of them is la_cápsula, located in Zurich, and the other is Dreiviertel, located in Bern.
By showing in the European context a set of works of art under these political guidelines, we are interested, on the one hand, in attracting audiences sensitive to these problems, but on the other hand, we are also interested in approaching people who ignore the current socio-political situation in the Central American country.
